The Impact of Increased Income on Charitable Giving

Analyzing IRS data from 2006 and 2012, this chapter explores how the increase in income during the Great Recession affected charitable giving. While wealthier Americans decreased donations by almost 5%, middle and lower income Americans increased giving by nearly the same percentage.
