The Importance of Data to Understand Disparities
In the 19 thirties, after the ino depression, the federal government wanted to help accelerate home ownership. So they created these standards for who could qualify for a loan. Basically, black and brown commune s were excluded. And so one of at a happening is that the land that was red lined was less expensive, all the communities of color are there. In places like alameda, up to 70 % more than white communities. Across the board, over 50 % disparity for, you know, things lik ano to pollution.
