After mit romney's loss in 20 that i felt that i really need to begin to understand american politics better. And so it was really after 20 12 that i began the research, the writing and the teaching That's culminated in this book where i try to say, here's how we got where we are now. One of the lessons of this history is a lot of this stuff is not new. A lot of the arguments for having a lot the forces at work in our politics to day, theyare a recurring phenomena in america, better or worse.
