The Importance of Political Engagement in Israel
Yvonne: I'm so struck by the visible transformation that I feel in you, how much your political engagement is transforming you as a thinker and an activist. The hope comes from the hundreds of thousands of Israelis, while demonstrating industries week after week after week. It's really been very inspiring to see this popular movement coming from below of people who will never politically engage in their lives. And also, again, looking from the very long-term perspective, we have this danger. But we also have thousands of years of Jewish history with very different traditions of respect for other people,. including for non-Jews, of respect for minorities. That is at least a hopeful note on which to end
