The Importance of Scoop Jackson

Scoop Jackson was a right-wing Democrat, Nixon's favorite. His staff became a nursery for many of the people we're going to end up talking about in this episode. They were very much people who did their homework, served on various boring DC committees, war tie every day and pushed for the war. The first Iraq war, some big name Democrats did oppose it. John Kerry definitely did. I think after the first Gulf War and the swift victory, they never really went there again,. But yeah, that kind of sealed it, I think, for them.
