Is There a Reversal of Religious Duress?

The abuse can have what seems to be a permanent long-term effect on the abused person's ability to make decisions about their own safety and welfare. With therapy and with work, there could definitely be a reversal of this. But before we can even talk about that, we really have to talk about how do we help that person reach a point of being able to get the kind of support they need when there is so much shaming and so much stigma.
