The frogs were considered so sacred, you could not step on them. It was a death penalty if you did. They had crocodile gods, frog goddesses, they're considered the primordial gods. And when those things start to hit you viscerally and you have no escaping them, literally scoop up the dead frogs and put them in a basket and bury or eat them. This hits a point of quote from the Irish Prime Minister that I bring up many times. He said never will so much be asked of so few by so many.
