A Long Quote From Second Peter and Jude

While first John is relatively mild in comparison to other later epistolary authors, second Peter and Jude lay into the pagan world with the same fury and ferocity as the Old Testament prophets. A long quote from second Peter tells us that non-Christians are like irrational animals, mere creatures of instinct, born to be caught and killed. In another long quote the book of Jude describes pagan outsiders as dreamers who defile the flesh, reject authority, and slander the glorious ones. The general notion of a blessed in-group and an out-group that would really just be better off dead is cut from the same cloth as Jeremiah and Ezekiel.
