The Vulnerability Component of Getting Friendships

At 40 it's a lot harder to say hey to somebody at work you seem really cool let's be friends. You don't want to be the rejector or the rejectee so there's a lot of vulnerability and it also represents an opportunity cost relative to time. One of the things that we wear is almost a badge of pride is I'm so busy I don't have time for friends well actually you gotta make time for friends as Brené Brown so wisely said all courage depends on our willingness to be vulnerable.
