The Disconnection Between Democracy and the Right

On the right, some people like the boomers are being called a racist and not believing in democracy. I think if you look at the founders, it's undeniable that they did have some degree of faith in a more liberal notion of government. Now, conservatives love to say this is a constitutional republic but when are you getting rid of the direct election of senators?
