Do We Really Give It Our All With the League of Nations?
The United States had pretty much sat out of participation in the League of Nations. World War II made it clear that the U.S. could not stay out of these international conflicts. The Senate minority leader, Arthur Vandenberg, was a nationalist to an interventionist. And he led this Republican coalition so that the vote was nearly unanimous.
