Dan: Landlords are responding to the work of tenant organizers that is leading to a shift in how people have to respond. Dan: There is only one long-term project or or response to that that organizing problem which is to build community. He says it has to mean throwing block parties like we've done in the LA tenants union for unhoused tenants on skid row and other issues such as ice potentially coming to their homes. Daniel: It really does mean building communities of joy so that it isn't just the grim prospect of losing your house that drives you to be a proper neighbor to your neighbors.
