The Role of Biblical Scholars and Systematic Theologians in Seminary Education

I think for those of us involved in seminary education it's very important to show that we're all interested in reading scripture. That seems to me to be a worthy enterprise that requires collaboration and so I don't like it when someone says you know I'm closer to God's word than you are. Yes it is true that biblical scholars and systematic theologians sometimes view things differently. We're all I hope servants of the word and together our labors are to minister that word to students who can then go and do likewise.
