Is There a Drive to Truth?

I don't see him doing an operational deconstruction of the term truth. He seems to think that what's entailed is a belief that we can have access to things in themselves. So i think part of the answer to dillon's question is, what is he assuming to be entailed in the scientific or philosophical drive to truth? And then he's trying to figure out why, when it's the case that the intellect is prone to deception.
