Diagnostic Accuracy of Point-of-care Ultrasound in Acute Heart Failure
This chapter discusses a study on the diagnostic accuracy of using point-of-care ultrasound to diagnose acute heart failure in patients with dyspnea, comparing it to clinical examination alone. Although there is an increase in sensitivity with ultrasound, it does not reach statistical significance, but certain ultrasound findings are highly specific for acute heart failure.
