Adieu, Miss Vernon to Lady De Courcy Churchill

Miss vernon wrote to her mother saying she would not be able to spend Christmas at Langford. She had been invited by Lady susan, the widow of Mr Mainwaring's brother-in-law. The letter was written in response to a request for help from Mrs Mainwaring after he died last year. It is believed that Ms Mainwaring has already made plans to visit Langford.
