The Unsettling Ending of the Grimm Stories

The original Grimm stories are very kind of simplistic in the way you point out, Eric. But the great thing about the way Neil Gaiman does it is he really kind of lingers on the descriptions. He kind of lets you really inhabit this world and especially I identify with the evil queen or not so evil in this case who ends up being burned alive. And that's something that creates a lot of empathy, which of course, you know, these kinds of stories are always really valuable and helpful.
