I wouldn't have said no to original photos, even if it made the piece feel a little softer than it is. I think they were trying to look kind of somber in it. It's funny because whenever I write about women, I'm always sort of loath to explain like hair and voice and makeup or things that are like, but with her, you like really, really have to. That was so much part of the character of Theranos.
