The desire here is to play upon the rhetorical strength of these ancient paintings, also bring it right back here and allow it to be played up by young londoners. What i wanted to do was to imagine my players coming together. Oftentimes there are single figures, but many times they're together. There is a polarity between being alone and being within the group. T becomes a metaphor for the western world, empire, colonialism, racesam all these things. Here, these black bodies are navigating this impossibly brutal white space, and one can't help but to root for them. It's a beautiful image that i've been wanting to put down in painting for a very long
