Politicians react to their political standing domestically by fashioning certain foreign policy responses. Boris johnson can run off tokiev and have this triumphant p r visit with zolenski where they're striding through the war torn streets, offering his utmost support. Is he catering to reactionary elements? I don't know. But of the features of the consensus that's coalesced around this war, i think, is the absolute ideological intractability of the consensus.
