Opia's Disruption of African Identity

I think there is a kind of elitism with Afropolitanism. But nonetheless, I think that Opia, you know, he's seeking to complicate how we think of African identity. And in his more recent book, the lies that bind, he's changed a bit. He's said that, well, even though race is a fiction, a science in a scientific sense, but nonetheless, race does provide certain forms of community which are useful.
