The Role of Feminist Politics in the Cuban Revolution

A lot of the women's organizing, the feminist organizing that you saw in that period really wasn't the urban centers. It wasn't just in Havana, but it didn't necessarily spread to the countryside. One group which I found really interesting was a group of Marxist women who were affiliated with the Cuban Communist Party. So there was some attention and some mobilization among women in rural areas.
