In scriptorium, you are copying a text just like a monk in a mediaeval scriptorium would do. The whole point is you're trying to take a text and emulate the writing style. It's a way of developing writing styleits a way of paying attention to all suchefficts. There is some connection between handwriting and memory and brain and retention that it really helpsso i find this works best while you're doing by hand.
