When we are in the presence of other autistics, we can be ourselves because we understand each other. I do believe that there is an autistic culture and a language that is just unique to us. John Marbles likes to say that big autistic is a lot like being French. A designer in Paris is different from a nun in Bordeaux but also very different from a farmer in Champagne region. If they were all to sit down at a cafe in the Champs-Elyse, they would have a shared understanding of what it means to be French.
