The Institution of Marriage Is Not Available to You
A lot of people on the left in those days were against gay marriage. They wanted to smash the institution of marriage, which was a big thing in the sixties and early seventies. And now you have young gay men, you tell them, you can't have access to this institution. Am, that is ike, hugely important. The victory of gay marriage was a a victory for bourgeois morals. It was a victory for a sort of am, incorporating homosexuals, who are human beings worthy of respect and dignity, into a civilizing son.
