"I'm a hermit. I don't leave the house very often," he says of his life in Texas. "There's a lot of my bad decisions come just on up the street." He admits to drinking beer every mile while training for an Ironman marathon, and that was 'way worse' than any other race you've ever done. The former pro-athlete now runs full iron man marathons.
Boyd Myers rarely says ‘no’. He is the type of person who runs a marathon and drinks a case of beer while doing it (yes, he did this). Boyd lives with a limitless perspective, saying ‘yes’ to new challenges and getting every drop out of life. The cool thing about Boyd is he hasn’t always had this perspective. After leaving the armed services and joining corporate America, Boyd packed on some extra weight and became the unhealthiest he’s ever been. He decided he needed a change. After running 500 feet (yes, feet), he decided he needed something to train for - an Ironman. From there, the rest is history. Boyd has been training for, and demolishing different endurance events ever since from 100 milers to his most recent pursuit - a full-distance Ironman followed by a half-Ironman the next day (or a 210.9 mile swim, bike, and run). Boyd has a contagious mindset and zest for life and we hope you enjoy this episode!
