This chapter explores the theological differences and similarities between Evangelical and Catholic beliefs surrounding justification and salvation. It delves into complex concepts like grace, Roman Catholic teachings from Vatican II, and the implications of invincible ignorance regarding salvation. The discussion highlights historical divisions while examining how faith, works, and scriptural interpretations shape the understanding of salvation within these two traditions.
We are going back to May 1, 1994, where the classic White Horse Inn hosts discussed the ecumenical statement, Evenagelicals and Catholics together. In this episode the hosts are joined by Patrick Madrid, a Roman Catholic author and apologist. Now that Evangelicals and Catholics Together is 30 years old, we hope that this conversation serves as a helpful look into the history and reception of this document.
