The Numinous Dream of Eckhart
Merton gave a talk once on God, does God seek us in our sleep? And so somehow the numinous quality of the dream is so intimate. Merton would mention Eckhart and the other mystics in his talks. I have to say, when I first read, unlike John of the Cross and so on, I didn't quite get what he was saying. It just seemed like elusive to me.
