MacArthur's Dispensationalism

MacArthur is a huge champion of the Puritans. Sometimes you wonder, why is he promoting them so, so much when he's a dispensationalist? He promotes appearance because of course they were good godly men and they had many good things to say. I heard growing up was that the reformers got the gospel right. But all they got was justification by faith of one through grace alone. They didn't have time to really research and do other theological to have their theology reformed. The Reformation started the recovery.
