The Long-Term Effects of Radiation

Before the atomic bomb, we didn't necessarily know as much of the long-term effects of radiation. They were doing a lot of studies in the sort of 40s, 50s, 60s. The radioactive material that he'd been drinking had not only made his bones and soft tissue disintegrate, it completely destroyed the nerves in that area too. He was just dosing himself with radiation that was getting stuck in different parts of his body and emitting all of these different kinds of radiation. Alpha particles and makes and particles are just, they tear up. It's your body and the mace is the real issue for me.
