The Seawalls of Tohoku in 2021

There are 430 kilometers of seawalls that have been built along the coast of Tohoku as a prevention measure against potential future tsunamis. Another thing you see a lot into Hoku and specifically on the coast of Fukushima are these mega solar power plants and afforestation projects, so basically creating new forests in areas that were flooded. So having said that, there are still some signs of the disaster. There are some buildings and even some trees that have been left in a ravaged kind of state as reminders of what happened in 2011.
