Is It a Liberal or a Libertarian?
I think libertarianism is distinct from liberalism, as he uses it certainly in the Australian context. Sometimes his critiques fit libertarianism, but we don't live in that libertarian society. I would say it's failed in a couple of very specific respects, but they're not civilisation ending. I could see liberalism prevailing for centuries, potentially. He gets the sense he thinks we're on the precipice of destruction. Like it is a self imploding self destructing. And he actually says unsustainable.
