Why Sloths Are Usually So Slow
Sloths are adapted to fall from trees because their favorite food is the young leaves at the tips of branches. When they can fall up to 100 feet and survive, they actually bounce slightly when they hit the floor. So falling must be the fastest that they ever move by kind of a lot.
