The Theory of Evolution - Is There a Single Essence?
In the aristotelian tradition, the dominant sort of way of thinking about human nature is in terms of essenceis or moderate realism. There have been arguments going back hundreds of years that made pretty much the same case about a certain kind of moderate realism. But it doesn't mean we just lump these things together and there's no basis. So there are real similarities and differences that allow us to unite together different populations. We both can survive by reason and not instinct. It's not true that you can survive on instinct, but i can survive only by making plans.
