Taiwan's Will to Fight

Taiwanese may not see the threat quite as urgently as U.S., intelligence community does, but there is certainly a growing urgency in Taiwan to defend itself. Defense spending for many years was going down; now they are back up to 2.4%. It's essential for Taiwan to demonstrate a will to fight and that means procuring the right kind of weapons. But at the same time, you don't want to be spending half of your defense budget on advanced fighter aircraft.
