The first great triumph of the l h c took place on the fourth of july, two thousand and 12 what became known at sern as higgs dependence day. The hope was that soon after this discovery, we were going to start to see evidence of new particles or phenomena. But if you've followed the news over the last decade or so, you'll know that the basic story is this, we haven't seen anything, nothing new. And i think if you speak to particale physicists they'll probably say, this has been a little bit worrying, anxious, making a but there has been an exciting development just very recently which could lead us to discover something new.
