I Have a Perfect Memory
He's trying to qualify his perfect memory and say the reason I have a perfect memory is because we remember things. He's not saying that he's saying the past itself is not a physical object. The only way that you can access the past is to remember it. His memory would not be perfect if there were another source outside of memory for the past, he says.
