CHAPTER

The Complexity of Ukrainian History

Drahomanov's map of Ukraine corresponds almost exactly to the borders of Ukraine in 1991. How could that be possible? For me it's one of the perfect illustrations how some interaction ideas, especially if they are human and emancipatory, can become successful. And so we also need to put them into proper context people like patroshalist for instance who supported Soviet invasion to Czechoslovakia. So let's not simplify him and others. Let's look at them in the entire complexity. There is no reason for us to be afraid. Looking at such tragic and complex issues of Ukrainian history will help us to understand better why Ukraine survived.
