The Origins of Soviet Technology Development

After World War II, both the Americans and the Soviets got hold of German rocket technology. Sergei Koryolov was a rocket scientist in the Soviet Union who had his own design bureau that is in charge of building missiles called OKB-1. Vladimir Chellume was another character himself who had a design bureau. And finally, you had another individual who was also a rocket designer named Mikhail Yangul. All three of them put their influence so that they could build better rockets,. The R7 was an intercontinental ballistic missile which means it could reach the mainland of the US.
