I think you and I both growing up probably assumed there was only one way to interpret the book of Revelation. The two broad approaches are would be a futurist approach and what maybe a higher critical scholars, might think of it as an idealist. It is all about interpretation. How do we decode this book to assign this symbol or this allegory or whatever to an event?
