Nuclear Winter Could Cause Human Extinction
Nuclear winter is the main known mechanism. It does seem that it does look, i think, fairly plausible and also very severe. But it is difficult for it to cause an extinction event for humanity. If you look at a place like new zealand or the southeast of australia, theyre coastal areas and also could do a lot of fishing. While it would be bad elsewhere, it's just very hard to actually make the story about why it's bad everywhere.
