The Cossacks of Ukraine

There hasn't been a russian nation for all that long. Even in the soviet union, people knew they were different nations. The cossacks who came from the nepa region of ukraine were subjects of poland lithuania. They wanted a tripartite commonwealth, poland, lith Lithuania and cossack dom. And there was actually a treaty 16 58, but it never worked out, and the cossacks joined moscowy. There are so many stereotypes, but the ultimate plan is to assimilate them.
