The Importance of Taking Swings in Trades
People are so down on Pieridorian right now because he lost the trade. But it feels a little revisionist history to look down on what Ottawa did and say it's a loss. It is a pure loss like just looking at it in a vacuum, but we shouldn't get down on GM's for taking swings. Like when he made the trade for Debrincat, there was no idea to know whether or not when we got to July 1st of 2023 that he wouldn't sign that extension. I think it looked like it could work out for the team. And that's the chance you take.
