Rebecca Buckwalter: Hitchcock is equal to surveillance. He seemed kind of obsessed with the home, doesn't he like obsessed with peeking in at other people's homes? There's that voyeurism I suppose to Hitchcock, where this sub genre kind of perfectly fits that because we all collectively love having a look in at others' homes. She says it's almost presented as a cautionary tale, you know, like a woman in charge of her desire equates to her becoming like a mad woman in the crazy house.
