The state will naturally become the receptacle for this struggle for power and for the control of the moral ideas of the majority. And as the state swells in power, politics infects every aspect of human life and makes itself synonymous with the people itself. So where Hicks is correct in seeing similarities, that Nietzsche is anti-democratic, anti-capitalist and anti-socialist, but he's also anti-fascist. He sees and fashes many commonalities with these other political developments more than we'd like to realize.
