The Black Soldiers Reminded Them of the Buffalo Soldiers
The black soldiers had the woolly hair at the top just like the buffalo so it was the apache that actually named the buffalo soldiers. There was a nearby apache reservation and we took the time to invite the teenagers from the reservation to come and excavate as we taught them archaeology so that they can also excavate their ancestors.
