The Perfinals and the War of the Perfs
The Perfinals were a well-known wizarding family, and one of the oldest in history. The Greshams expected that because of this, one day they would lose their position of rule. With half the British wizarding community out to get them, the Perfinals knew of only one solution: blood magic. Each brother split their magical blood and performed a spell that promised protection from death, immortality. When it went terribly wrong, Katmos abandoned his daughter and took her to an orphanage; he later killed himself.
