The Bias of Self-Driving Cars

When a driverless car kills a person, people say to themselves, I would have known that was a kid on a bike. People pay very little attention to the 50,000 victims of driving accidents each year in human-driven cars unless they know someone in one of them who was killed. It makes sense as human beings, it takes us a while to get comfortable with something. We're not yet comfortable with the idea that our machine will kill us. To the point where I almost blase about it, not yet there with machines.
