The Importance of Self-Identity
It seems like you would be willing to sacrifice all your own happiness at least for a certain amount of helping. I mean that's like incredibly noble and good but also kind of like a shocking degree of altruism, which is the way most people operate. So then it's really interesting to me that if you don't think they're objectively correct but it seems like you wouldn't care about yourself so much as other people who are trying to help others. What drives that level of devotion? The degree of suffering that exists in the world I find extremely compelling. You get there quite quickly with veil of ignorance plus not having a particular preference of self identity.
