Aristotle's Moral Virtue
Moral virtue is concerned with emotions and actions in which one can have excess or deficiency. Aristotle saw the cultivation of virtue first as a matter of encouraging habits, of learning to like what is worth liking. The soil must have been previously tilled if it is to foster the seed. And the mind of the pupil must be prepared by the cultivation of habits so as to like and dislike aright.
